Description
This classic from Italy is in almost new and beautiful original condition and is certainly one of the most beautiful bikes from the collection.
Francesco Moser was and is probably one of the most successful and well-known racing cyclists in the history of cycling. In addition to his total of 272 victories, he won the Giro d’Italia, 3 times in a row the Paris-Roubaix and set a new hour record in 1984, which he was able to defend for 9 years. He ended his career as an active cyclist in 1988, where after a cycling tour with friends he hung up his racing bike in the main square of his home town.
This racing bike from the early 80s is almost unprecedented and in perfect original condition. In addition to all the nice details, the racing bike has the best Campagnolo components from the time, a 3TTT handlebar sewn into leather and an impressive paint job.
This special varnish is called Cromovelato - that's the name of a completely chrome-plated frame which has been coated with an extremely thin, translucent layer of varnish. This gives the frame its special shine.
The Moser lettering on the seat and seat tube is not glued on like on most bikes, but is painstakingly painted with a template. The bike is equipped with a 100% complete Super Record group from Campagnolo, a Concor saddle, Mavic rims and new Continental tires.
